Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Buckworks ("we", "us", or "the site") at nec.buckworks.net collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the site.
Information we collect
Buckworks does not require an account, and we do not directly collect your name, email address, or other personally identifying information unless you voluntarily send it to us via the contact page. Our exam app stores your answers, settings, and progress in your browser's local storage on your own device — that data never leaves your computer.
We do automatically receive standard server log information (IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, timestamps) when you visit the site. This is hosted by Netlify and used only for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic statistics.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential / functional — to remember your exam settings (number of questions, timer, mode, theme) between visits.
- Analytics — to understand which pages and questions are most useful, so we can improve the test bank. If we use Google Analytics, it sets cookies and collects pseudonymous behavior data per Google's privacy practices.
- Advertising — Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google AdSense
This site is monetized in part by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this website and other websites.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.
- For users in the European Economic Area or the UK, Google obtains consent before serving personalized ads, in accordance with the GDPR.
For more information on how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, please refer to policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google Analytics
If we use Google Analytics, the service collects information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they view, and what other sites they used prior to coming here. We use this information solely to improve the site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit, rather than your name or other identifying information. You may opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Information you submit voluntarily
If you contact us by email or via the contact page, we may keep your message and your email address to respond to you and to maintain a record of correspondence. We do not sell or share that information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults studying for electrical licensing examinations. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Your rights — California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, and the purposes.
- Request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@buckworks.net with the subject line "CCPA Request".
Your rights — EU/UK residents (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data we hold about you, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@buckworks.net.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
